Agartala, Tripura, 31st of July 2025 : In the financial year 2025–26 (up to 31st July), RUDSETI Agartala has emerged as a beacon of hope for unemployed rural youth by successfully conducting seven free skill development training batches, with a strong focus on women’s empowerment. Of the 207 participants trained, a remarkable 95% were women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households, showcasing the institute’s deep commitment to social inclusion and economic upliftment.

Five of these programmes were held at the institute’s residential campus in AD Nagar near SIPARD, while two were organized off-campus to reach remote rural areas. The training covered a wide range of livelihood-oriented skills, including women’s tailoring, mushroom cultivation (2 batches), junior beauty practitioner, computerized accounting, candle making, and Krishi Uddyami (agri-entrepreneurship). Only 27 trainees were male, underlining RUDSETI’s focus on building women’s capacity for self-employment.

RUDSETI Agartala provides completely free, residential training, including food, lodging, and study materials, ensuring that even the most economically disadvantaged can benefit. By the end of July, the institute had already completed 142 training days, reflecting its active engagement and mission-driven approach.

Looking ahead, the institute is set to roll out new training programmes in trades such as fast food preparation, costume jewellery making, masonry, and more. These future initiatives will open new livelihood opportunities for aspiring youth, especially women, from rural Tripura.

Through sustained efforts and a deep-rooted approach, RUDSETI Agartala is shaping the future of rural youth—fostering self-reliance, promoting entrepreneurship, and driving inclusive rural development across the state.
