Agartala, Tripura, 16th of August 2025 : With the initiative of Tripura Cricket association organized Annual Prize Event for the cricket session 2024-25 at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (16th August, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
Addressing at the Annual Prize Event For The Cricket Session, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the state government has given importance to the development of cricket along with other sports. In this regard, the Tripura Cricket Association will also have to play an important role in making the state’s cricket name shine. Sports create a healthy mental and physical structure. For this, we need to practice with concentration. There is no dearth of sports talent in the state. Based on them, there is a great opportunity to move forward in the field of Tripura cricket in the future. Various initiatives have already been taken to take the state cricket forward under the initiative of the Tripura Cricket Association. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is working to build modern sports infrastructure to take the state forward in the field of sports.
Addressing the event, Hon’ble Youth Affairs & Sports, Minister Tinku Roy said that Tripura is a small state but it has a special reputation in the country in the field of sports. Emphasis has been placed on building modern sports infrastructure for the development of sports. Tripura Cricket Association is working towards expanding the game of cricket in the State. As a result, he expressed hope that the state will also move forward in the field of cricket in the future.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Tripura Cricket Association Secretary Subrata Dey, Khairul Jaman Majumder, BCCI Apex Council Member, BCCI Secretary Debjit Saikia, among others, also spoke at the event. Manipur Cricket Association Secretary Romal Singh, Tripura Cricket Association Vice President Upananda Debbarma were present at the event. Successful cricketers and teams of various tournaments organized by Tripura Cricket Association were awarded at the event. In addition, Srabani Debnath, fielding coach of the Indian women’s under-19 team, was felicitated. The Chief Minister also unveiled the Tripura Cricket Association’s souvenir at the event.
