Agartala, Tripura, 24th of August 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Sunday (24th August, 2025). According to the sources, along with the RPF, arrested Two drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station, and seized a total of 8.450 Kg dry cannabis worth ₹ 1.7 lakh. They wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.

According to sources, GRP & RPF Of Agartala, at about 7 PM two drug peddlers namely Sonu Kumar (31), S/O- Lt. Munshi Mahaldar of Naya Tola, Tingachiya, PS- Town Tana, Kathihar, Bihar and Suman Kumar Gupta (34), S/O- Lt. Ashok Kumar Gupta of Naya Tola, Tingachiya, PS- Town Tana, Kathihar, Bihar have been arrested from Agartala Railway station with total 8.450 Kg contraband cannabis (Ganja). The value of this Ganja in black market is about Rs-1.7 Lakh. They are carrying those Ganja to Bihar. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP085, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 NDPS Act has registered against them.
