Agartala, Tripura, 20th November, 2025 : Dr. K. Sasi Kumar, IFS, Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department, conducted a field visit to multiple TRESP-supported Producer Groups in Lefunga Block, observing impressive livelihood outcomes across agriculture, livestock, and fishery sectors.

At the Bottle Gourd FFS Field of Asha Agri-Horti PG in Uttar Bodhjungnagar VC, the Secretary interacted with progressive women farmers who reported significant earnings. One member has already sold produce worth ₹15,000 (@ ₹40 per piece) and expects an additional ₹35,000–40,000 this season. She availed a TRESP loan of ₹10,600 during Kharif 2025 and expressed full satisfaction with the project, reporting smooth market access with traders from Agartala visiting daily. On the day of the visit, she harvested 45 fresh bottle gourds.
During his visit to the TRESP Livestock Producer Group, Dr. Kumar appreciated the achievements of the lead member, who has already sold piglets twice, earning over ₹1.40 lakh. He lauded the PG for maintaining hygienic sheds and ensuring strong growth performance of the pigs.

The Secretary also inspected the Bodang Fishery PG, accompanied by the BDO and TRESP staff, and expressed satisfaction over the scientific management practices adopted under the project.

The visit highlighted TRESP’s positive role in enhancing rural livelihoods, boosting income generation, and strengthening producer groups under the Tribal Welfare Department. Abdur Rahman Choudhury,Media Manager TRESP briefed the media regarding the positive impact of the visit .
