Sonamura, Tripura, 27th of November, 2025 : On specific information of the Sonamura Police Station and BSF jointly secret operation was launched at Sonamura on Tuesday (25th November, 2025) evening. According to the sources, along with the Sonamura Police, arrested One (1) drug peddlers and seized a total of 58 bottles of ESKUF Cough Syrup.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that in a joint operation by Sonamura Police Station and the 81 BN BSF, a drug peddler was arrested. A total of 58 bottles of ESKUF (cough) syrup were recovered from his possession. Name of the arrested drug peddler is Shaheenur Islam (21), Residence – NC Nagar, Police Station, Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura. OC also added that Sonamura police station has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal contrabands many more people from that area may be arrested in this case.
