Mumbai, Maharashtra, 30th of November, 2025 : In a city that never sleeps, Bhaykhala’s Jijamata Udyan has turned into a serene space of creativity and natural beauty. The BMC and the Tree Authority of Mumbai, in collaboration with the Consulate-General of Japan, have organised the first-ever Bonsai and Origami Exhibition — a visual celebration of miniature trees and intricate paper art.

Inaugurated on Friday, the exhibition is open to the public with free entry till November 30, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Chief guests included Mr. Koji Yagi, Consul General of Japan in Mumbai, and Mr. Jitendra Pardeshi, BMC Garden Superintendent. Highlighting 60 years of the Sister City partnership between Mumbai and Yokohama, the exhibition showcases a cultural bond through eco-friendly expression.

Film and TV actress Ekta Jain also attended and praised the initiative, emphasizing that planting even a few potted plants at home is a vital step toward fighting air pollution.
