Mumbai, Maharashtra, 12th of December, 2025 : FICCI’s Annapoorna Interfood 2025, held in Mumbai, showcased new opportunities and a powerful growth trajectory for India’s food-processing industry. Avinash Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, said, “India’s agriculture is our real strength, and food processing is the biggest key to converting it into sustainable prosperity. Without boosting value-addition and food safety, both farmers and consumers will remain deprived—farmers of their deserved income and consumers of reliable quality.”

He highlighted how government schemes such as PM Kisan SAMPADA and PMFME—offering 35–50% financial assistance—along with facilities like cold chains, testing labs and incubation centres, are emerging as strong pillars of rural jobs and entrepreneurship.
Nandini Roy Choudhury of Future Market Insights added, “For Gen Z, transparency is not a bonus—it’s the minimum expectation. They want to know how their food is made and what impact it has on the world.”
Rajesh Rathore, ED, MPIDC, positioned Madhya Pradesh as an emerging food-processing hub, while FICCI’s Balvinder Singh Sahni called Annapoorna Interfood 2025 a defining platform that has revived the post-Covid value chain.
Annapoorna Interfood 2025 made it clear that innovation, transparency and strong partnerships will shape the future of India’s new food economy.
