New Delhi, Delhi, 19th of January, 2026 : Jamia Hamdard organised the 6th Kashmiri Youth Exchange Programme on the theme “Watan Ko Jano” with the objective of promoting cultural understanding, national integration, and youth development. The programme was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The programme was presided over by Prof. Asgar Ali, Officiating Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard. Shri Ajay Mahawar, MLA, Ghonda Constituency (Delhi) attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Shri Ajay Kumar, District Magistrate, North East Delhi, and Col. Tahir Mustafa, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard, were present as Guests of Honour.
Welcoming the participants, the organisers highlighted that the six-day programme brought together over 100 youth from six districts of Kashmir—Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, and Srinagar—for academic exposure, cultural interactions, and sessions on leadership and entrepreneurship in the national capital.
Addressing the gathering, Col. Tahir Mustafa emphasised that such exchange programmes play a vital role in bridging regional gaps and strengthening mutual understanding among youth from different parts of the country.
In his presidential address, Prof. Asgar Ali stressed the importance of education, unity, and cross-cultural dialogue, describing the programme as a bridge that connects young minds and encourages them to contribute positively to India’s shared future.

Shri Ajay Kumar, District Magistrate, highlighted the value of exposure-based learning and warmly welcomed the participants, while Shri Ajay Mahawar, in his address as Chief Guest, underlined the Government of India’s vision for inclusive youth development and national integration.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking the successful culmination of a meaningful initiative aimed at strengthening bonds between the youth of Jammu & Kashmir and the rest of the country.
