Agartala, Tripura, 11th of April 2025 : Training is the utmost priority of Tripura Rural Economic Growth and Service Delivery Project (TRESP) to stabilize the working condition of TRESP in 23 blocks in the TRESP operational areas of Tripura . TRESP is running Under Tribal Welfare department,govt of Tripura since 2023-24 .
Under the banner of the TRESP, the PIU Agriculture and Horticulture Department is undertaking capacity building programs of the Krishi Sakhis. The program aims to enhance technical knowledge, agribusiness skill of the Krishi Sakhis/Community Cadres yunder TRESP. The program conducted for 2 days modules on the POP of 17 TRESP AgriHorti crops emphasized on the adoption of environmentally sound and sustainable farming system based on specific POPs devised under the project. The Krishi Sakhis were also provided IEC materials including -crop wise POP in local language.
The program so far covered around 95 Krish Sakhis under the West Tripura, Sipahija and Kowai districts during the 2 batches programe. The ongoing capacity building program of the Krishi Sakhis are expected to cover about 282 Krishi Sakhis across 23 TRSSP Blocks by the end of April 2025.
Dr.L.Jitendra Singh Agriculture specialist incharge of TRESP actively balancing and smoothening the activities initiated by Agriculture department from time to time .As a result the project Implementation progress in Agriculture sector of TRESP is moving towards higher achievement in all it’s parameter. Under the dynamic leadership of Subhasis Das , Project Director,TRESP a good number of capacity building initiatives will be taken by PMU -TRESP in the coming days in order to achieve all set targets of World bank by June 2025.
