Mumbai, Maharashtra, 24th of April 2026 : Amid changing lifestyles and rising risk factors, cases of head and neck cancers are increasing rapidly, with oral cancer accounting for a significant share. In response, Merck Specialities Private Limited has launched the “Two-Minute Action for Oral Cancer Protection” campaign—Act Against Oral Cancer—encouraging people to take just two minutes for self-examination and stay alert to early warning signs.

Supporting this initiative, Dr. Sevanthi Limaye, Director of Medical and Precision Oncology at H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, has urged Mumbaikars to adopt the mantra: “Feel, Look, and Act.”
Dr. Limaye emphasizes, “Persistent mouth ulcers, difficulty in swallowing, changes in voice, or swelling in the neck should not be ignored. Early detection is the most powerful tool in fighting this disease.”
The campaign is not only raising awareness but also empowering individuals to take proactive steps. By practicing regular self-checks and paying attention to early symptoms, people can significantly improve the chances of detecting and preventing oral cancer at an early stage.
