Mumbai, Maharashtra, 15th of June 2026 : Dr Kalyan Goswami, Director General, Agrochem Federation of India (ACFI) :
We are glad to see that under the US-Iran peace deal, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened. Looking at energy flows and inflation outlooks, this is welcome relief for India, as we import large volumes of fertilisers & agrochemical ingredients to meet domestic agricultural demand. Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz have adversely affected the industry, but now the stable passage means crop-protection security for Indian farmers and will help to keep essential inputs affordable and accessible.
