Agartala, Tripura, 16th of May, 2026 : Agartala Press Club member Bijoy Debnath went to the Radhanagar petrol pump on Friday to refuel his motorcycle when an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number TR-01-J-3774 allegedly blocked his way. Following his protest, the auto driver reportedly hurled abusive and obscene language at him.
When questioned over his use of abusive language, the auto-rickshaw driver allegedly turned violent and physically assaulted journalist Bijoy Debnath, leaving him seriously injured and bleeding.
Agartala Press Club strongly condemned this violent and barbaric attack.
Agartala Press Club urged the police administration the immediate arrest of the accused and strict legal action against those involved in the attack.
