Dharmanagar, Tripura, 8th of November, 2026 : Fire service personnel in Dharmanagar are facing serious difficulties due to ambulances being parked on both sides of the entrance to Dharmanagar District Hospital. Despite reaching the hospital to provide emergency services, fire service vehicles are finding it difficult to turn around due to the lack of adequate space.

According to allegations, several ambulances remain parked for long periods on both sides of the hospital entrance. As a result, after entering the hospital premises and dropping off injured patients, fire service vehicles do not have sufficient space to turn around and exit. Drivers are often forced to reverse their vehicles before they can turn around. This is causing valuable time to be wasted in providing emergency services. Expressing his frustration, a fire service driver and staff member, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that a designated area near the hospital entrance must be kept completely clear to allow emergency vehicles to turn around. However, due to unregulated ambulance parking, they are repeatedly facing difficulties.

The problem also creates a major obstacle when fire service vehicles need to return to duty quickly during emergency situations.Questions are now being raised about how the administration will handle critical situations if a hospital, which is one of the most important institutions for saving lives, does not have adequate arrangements for the movement and turning of emergency service vehicles at its very entrance.Fire service vehicles are not ordinary modes of transport.

Whenever there is a fire, an accident or any other disaster, they must rush to the spot without delay. However, if poor parking arrangements at the hospital entrance repeatedly force fire service vehicles to reverse and manoeuvre, who will take responsibility for the valuable time lost?In the interest of public safety, demands are growing for a designated section in front of Dharmanagar District Hospital to be kept free from parking at all times so that emergency vehicles can turn around without obstruction. An alternative designated parking area should also be arranged for ambulances. Any obstruction to the movement of fire service vehicles engaged in saving human lives is unacceptable and must be addressed immediately.
