An 70 Year-Old Woman Died In A House Fire.

Teliamura, Tripura, 18th of August 2025 :  A massive fire broke out in the Muslim slum of area Chakmaghat Barrage under Teliamura police station on Sunday (17th August, 2025) evening. A fire suddenly broke out in a poor hut and the entire house was burnt to ashes in a moment. Tragically, an elderly woman has died after being trapped inside her home during a fire. The incident resulted in the loss of her life while she was unable to escape the blaze.

The deceased’s name is Jabeda Bibi (70). She had been living alone in that hut for a long time. According to local sources, the fire suddenly started from the flame of a kerosene lamp. Within moments, the fire spread all around. Despite the locals’ best efforts, there was nothing they could do in front of the blazing flames. Amidst their helpless screams, Jabeda Bibi collapsed in the lap of death inside the burning house.

After receiving information from the local residents in the morning, fire brigade personnel and Teliamura police arrived at the scene. However, everything was burnt to ashes before they could reach it. The locals were shocked to witness the scene of the fire. The tragic death of a helpless old woman has cast a shadow of grief over the entire area. Locals said that Jabeda Bibi spent her last days alone and in poverty. Her death has not only devastated a family, but also shaken the entire society. The ashes of the burnt-out house and the silent witnesses of the agony of death are still scattered at the scene of the fire.
