Sabroom, Tripura, 20th of January, 2025 : An allegation of absence against Anganwadi Teacher. The incident took place at Daspara Anganwadi Centre in West Sabroom Gram Panchayat under Satchand RD block Sabroom .
The incident details that the Anganwadi center’s Teacher Supriya Das has not been coming to the Anganwadi Centre since January 5th, which is disrupting the children’s education and affecting their nutrition. It is alleged that she is often absent from the Anganwadi Centre and even when she goes to school, since the Anganwadi Centre is next to her house, she would sign the register and go home and get busy with household chores.
So this morning, when that grandmother went to the Anganwadi Centre, the villagers gathered and surrounded her, preventing her from entering the school, and demanded that she be transferred from this school to another place and a new teacher be appointed.
