Dharmanagar, Tripura, 18th of February, 2026 : A significant discussion meeting with Anganwadi workers and helpers was held on Wednesday, February 18, at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Dharmanagar, North Tripura district. Workers from different parts of the district participated in the meeting and discussed in detail their problems, demands, and working conditions.Among those present were Bagbassa MLA Yadab Lal Nath, BJP North District President Kajal Das, and North Tripura Zilla Parishad member as well as BJYM North District General Secretary Jayjit Sharma. The meeting was chaired by Rakhi Deb Dey.

Speakers highlighted that around 23,000 Anganwadi workers and helpers across the state have long been playing a vital role in child and maternal care services. However, several of their demands—such as an increase in honorarium, retirement benefits, and other facilities—remain unfulfilled.During the meeting, resolutions were adopted demanding rightful entitlements, enhancement of honorarium, social security measures, and improvement of working conditions. It was also reported that a broader movement may be organized in the future to press for these demands.
Several speakers urged the government to consider the demands promptly and take necessary steps. Notably, Anganwadi workers and helpers from various areas unitedly presented their demands at the meeting.
