Agartala, Tripura, 12th of August, 2026 : Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu visited a modern pig breeding unit operated by a Self-Help Group under the East Takarjala Village Council at Kanuram Para in Jampuijala RD Block on Tuesday (11th August, 2026). During the visit, the Governor inspected the modern pig breeding farm. Officials of the Block Development Office and the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) briefed him on the functioning and management of the unit. Governor also interacted with members of the Cluster Level Federation (CLF) and Self-Help Groups, enquiring about their activities and livelihood initiatives.
While interacting with the members, Governor encouraged SHGs to undertake livestock-based livelihood activities, including piggery, duckery, goat farming, and poultry farming. He said that such initiatives play a significant role in strengthening livelihoods, generating sustainable income, and improving the financial condition of SHG members.
SDM of Jampuijala Subdivision Amitabh Chakma, BDO of Jampuijala RD Block Robert L. Darlong, and officials of the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) and the Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD) were present during the visit.
