Belonia, South Tripura, 11th of June, 2025 : Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das chaired on the review meeting with all the officials of ARD, Fisheries and SCW department, Director at Circuit House, Belonia, South Tripura on Wednesday (11th June, 2025).

“The authorities have to work with importance in implementing various Government Projects aimed at public welfare. To achieve success, the work has to be completed within the specified time. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities in every work, there must also be a mindset of accountability to the people.” Hon’ble SC Welfare, ARD, Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das said at the review meeting with all the officials of ARD, Fisheries and SCW department, Director at Belonia today. In this review meeting, the initiatives taken by the departments of Fisheries, Animal Resources Development and Scheduled Caste Welfare in South Tripura district in the financial year 2024-25, the implementation of various projects, and the plans for the financial year 2025-26 were discussed in detail.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Resources Development presented to everyone through a pictorial report the significant success stories of the implementation of various projects undertaken for the benefit of animal husbandry in South Tripura district in the financial year 2024-25. He said that in the financial year 2024-25, there has been 100 percent success in providing assistance under the Chief Minister’s Animal Welfare Development Scheme for poultry and poultry farming, implementation of animal feed development projects, vaccination and animal breeders’ honor fund. In addition, more than 10 lakh animals and birds have been treated. About 2 lakh cattle have been vaccinated to keep animals free from foot-and-mouth disease. Emphasis is being placed on artificial insemination through the use of sex-sorted semen to produce improved female calves.

The Animal Resources Development Minister directed the officials to work with importance in providing Kisan Credit Cards to farmers. He also directed the officials to publicize through microphones in the concerned areas before conducting vaccination camps, animal health camps, animal awareness camps, etc. In the meeting, the district officer discussed the implementation of various projects of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, including one-time financial support for Pre-Matric, Post-Matric,, professional courses, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Merit Award, boarding house stipend, PMAJY, renovation of various scheduled hostels in the district, etc.
The Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister directed the sub-division administrators to work expeditiously in issuing income certificates and Scheduled Caste certificates to ensure that there is no difficulty in getting scholarships and stipends for the students. He also appealed to the public representatives to work with importance for the development of the area, including providing scholarships to students, various government benefits for families belonging to the Scheduled Caste community.
