Assembly Budget Session 2023-24 On The 2nd Day.

General discussion on the proposed budget for the financial year 2023-24 has started in the 2nd day (10th July, 2023) Legislative Assembly. Starting the discussion on the proposed budget, the leader of opposition MLA Animesh Debbarma termed this budget as a directionless budget. He said that the budget does not have any specific outline for the future of the people of the state, including the unemployed, employees, Jhumia, backward classes. Moreover, 12 MLAs participated in the discussion on the proposed budget today.

MLA Ranjit Das called the proposed budget far reaching and public welfare oriented budget. He said that in this budget allocation has been increased in education sector, development of road communication system, health services, agriculture and farmer welfare, sports welfare. In support of the budget, MLA Shambhulal Chakma said that resources have been kept in this budget to facilitate future employment by acquainting the youth with modern technology. MLA Jitendra Majumdar, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb and MLA Kishore Barman also spoke in favor of the budget. MLA Birajit Sinha, while discussing the proposed budget, emphasized on setting up development councils for financial, social and cultural development of every tribal community in the state. Also, MLA Jitendra Chowdhury, MLA Biswajit Kalai, MLA Swapna Debbarma, MLA Pathanlal Jamatia, discussed the proposed budget.
