Attacked While Helping Accident Victims! Gold Chain and Cash Allegedly Stolen Inside Hospital.

Khowai, Tripura, 20th of September, 2026 : A humanitarian effort to rescue accident victims allegedly turned into a shocking ordeal on the night of Vishwakarma Puja. The individuals who came forward to help were reportedly subjected to assault, harassment, and robbery near the South Pulinpur bypass under Teliamura police station. A group of youths has been accused in connection with the incident, which has reportedly created tension in the area.

According to the details of the incident, Jatan Rudra Pal, a resident of the Khowai-Chebri area, was returning to Agartala along with his personal car driver after completing some personal work in Teliamura. When they reached the area near the South Pulinpur bypass, they noticed a man, a woman, and a child lying on the road in an injured condition following an accident.

Out of a sense of humanity, Jatan Rudra Pal and his driver stopped their vehicle and stepped forward to help rescue the accident victims. However, it is alleged that at that very moment, a few youths arrived at the spot on a scooter and confronted them. An argument reportedly broke out, following which Jatan Rudra Pal and his driver were allegedly assaulted.

Despite the situation turning tense, Jatan Rudra Pal did not back down. He eventually rescued the three accident victims in his personal vehicle and took them to the hospital for treatment. However, it is alleged that the trouble did not end there—the ordeal reportedly followed him even inside the hospital.

After reaching the hospital, Jatan’s driver reportedly stepped outside for some work. Allegedly taking advantage of the situation, several youths dragged Jatan out of the hospital premises. He further alleged that he was then severely assaulted and that the gold chain around his neck and cash in his possession were snatched away.

The most serious allegation is that the assault and robbery reportedly took place right in front of the security guards deployed at the hospital. This has raised questions about how such an incident could occur inside a place considered to be safe, allegedly in full view of the personnel responsible for security. Jatan Rudra Pal and his driver somehow managed to escape from the spot to save themselves. The incident has reportedly sparked fear and panic in the area.

Following the incident, Jatan Rudra Pal lodged a written complaint at Teliamura Police Station on Saturday. Speaking to the media, he called for a fair and thorough investigation into the incident, justice for the victims, and strict legal action against those allegedly involved.
