Balanagar Division Police Trace 98 Missing Mobiles Worth ₹15.5 Lakh Through Ceir Portal.

Hyderabad, Telangana, 30th of August 2026 : In a major success, the Balanagar Division Police have traced and recovered 98 missing and stolen mobile phones worth approximately ₹15.50 lakh through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) Portal. The recovered devices were handed over to their rightful owners after detailed verification and completion of all necessary legal formalities.

The recovery operation was conducted by the Crime and Investigation Teams of Kukatpally, Balanagar and Allapur Police Stations. By using technical resources, CEIR data and complaints registered at the respective police stations, the teams traced the mobile phones from various locations.

Kukatpally Police Station recovered 65 mobile phones valued at approximately ₹10 lakh, while Balanagar Police Station recovered 30 phones worth around ₹5 lakh. Allapur Police Station recovered three mobile phones valued at approximately ₹50,000, taking the total recovery to 98 devices worth ₹15.50 lakh.

Before handing over the phones, police officials thoroughly verified the complainants’ details, IMEI numbers and other relevant particulars to establish ownership. The devices were subsequently returned to the respective owners following the completion of documentation and legal procedures.

The operation was carried out under the guidance and coordination of Ritiraj, IPS, DCP, Kukatpally Zone, and P. Naresh Reddy, ACP, Balanagar Division. The operation received active support from G. Prashanth, SHO, Balanagar Police Station; D. Swamy Goud, SHO, Kukatpally Police Station; S. Naveen Kumar, SHO, Allapur Police Station; Detective Inspectors G. Shakar Reddy of Kukatpally Police Station and B. Sakram of Balanagar Police Station, along with the dedicated Crime Staff of the respective police stations.

The efforts of the police teams were highly appreciated, and the personnel involved will be suitably rewarded for their commendable work. Zakeer, PC, Balanagar Police Station; Venkatesh, HG, Balanagar; Laxm appa, PC, Allapur; and Azam, PC, Kukatpally Police Station, were rewarded for their contribution to the successful detection and recovery operation.

Cyberabad Police urged citizens to report the loss or theft of a mobile phone immediately at the nearest police station and obtain a complaint acknowledgement. Citizens should also register the device’s IMEI number on the official CEIR Portal, ceir.gov.in, to block the handset, prevent its misuse and assist the police in tracing and recovering it.

The police further advised citizens to preserve their mobile phone’s IMEI number, mobile number, make and model, and purchase invoice or bill. Keeping these details readily available can facilitate prompt reporting, verification and recovery of lost or stolen mobile phones.
