Local Residents Saw Beef Lying On The Roadside.

Khowai, 19th of June, 2024 : At around 2 pm on Wednesday (19th June, 2024) some miscreants allegedly tried to disturb social harmony and stroke communal tensions at Ward No. 1 area, North Durganagar under ​​Khowai District. According to the information received, the some local residents found pieces of beef lying on the roadside in the area. The people of the Hindu community worship the cow. This was seemingly done to hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. The area where Durganagar is located has a mixed settlement where people from Hindu and Muslim communities have been living side by side for many years. Afterwards, the local community gathered, lifted the lump of beef from the road and buried it in the ground.

The residents of the local area said that it is not at all desirable to hurt a religion in such a way. Sensing that the alleged act has hurt the sentiments of local residents, strongly condemning this incident, the Hindu community people of Durganagar area came together and gave a message to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
