Kolkata, 27th of May, 2024: Ahead of the final phase of elections, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal intensified campaigning for BJP in West Bengal with hectic campaigning in the Kolkata North Lok Sabha constituency late night yesterday. The senior BJP leader, Sonowal campaigned for BJP candidates Tapas Roy who is contesting from Kolkata North LSC. Sonowal evinced confidence that ‘Modi Magic’ would ensure that BJP wins at least 32 seats out of 42 seats in the state, improving its tally to reach a new high.

Addressing the poll rally, the senior BJP leader, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “The glory days of West Bengal now lay in ruins as successive governments by TMC and Left parties wreaked havoc for decades. This blessed land of Bengal, from where so many sons and daughters have joined the movement of nation building with their illustrious, rich, talent and knowledge, lay in tatters as goons won’t let peace loving people immerse or contribute to this movement. In this elections, we have seen largely peaceful polling in most part of the country, but West Bengal. This is more than unfortunate for a land that has given Bharat her greatest son, Subhash Chandra Bose, whose ideals continue to energise the youth of the country, irrespective of their socio-economic background, towards the movement of nation building. This ‘Jungle Raj’ at the behest of an inept, corrupt, inefficient & sloppy TMC Govt, must come to a logical end. Here is an opportunity for the people of Bengal to oust such negativity professed by TMC. And, people of Bengal must vote for ‘Vikas, Viswas, & Prayas’ to join the rest of India towards becoming world’s top economic power under the dynamic & visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.” It is to be noted that Sonowal, who started his career as a students leader, evoked strong support from the young voters at the rally here yesterday.

Adding further, the senior leader from BJP, Sarbananda Sonowal said, “People of Bengal has realised the ‘Modi Magic’ as there is no alternative to Vikas as the mantra for overall development. India is progressing and scaling new heights of development and growth under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. The ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ has left people of Bengal with an indelible mark in the hearts of the people as one desires to move forward from obscurity towards a sense of purpose, peace and progress. I am confident that BJP will secure & win more than 30 seats in the state, translating the mood of the people via the democratic power of the electorate. ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ to translate the Mood of the Electorate towards a Purposeful, Peaceful and Prosperous Bengal.”

The Union Minister was accompanied by BJP candidate of Dum Dum LSC, Sheelabhadra Dutta, Rajya Sabha MP from the state, Shamik Bhattacharjee, ex Vice President of West Bengal state BJP, Biswapriya Raichoudhury; Prabhari, Lok Sabha, Sandeep Banerjee, Prabhari of Dum Dum LSC, Shiladitya Dev, Saikat Dutta Chowdhury among other senior leaders of the party. In the wake of the Cyclone Ramel, other scheduled poll campaigns were cancelled for safety.
