Agartala, Tripura, 19th of November, 2024 : The 43rd Agartala Book Fair-2025 will start from 2nd January 2025 at the International Fair Ground, Hapania,Agartala. The fair will continue till January 14, 2025. The meeting of the steering committee of 43rd Agartala Book Fair 2025 held at Muktadhara Auditorium Hall, Agartala on Tuesday (19th November, 2024). The meeting was chaired by the chairman of the 43rd Agartala Book Fair Management Committee, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder

In the meeting, a review of the implementation of various decisions taken under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on October 28 regarding the organization of the 43rd Agartala Book Fair and the venue and theme of the book fair were discussed in detail. In the meeting of the management committee, a proposal was accepted to hold the 43rd Agartala Book Fair to be held from January 2 to January 14 at the International Fair Ground premises in Hapania, Agartala. Besides, the proposal of formulating the theme of the book fair based on the influence of Indian human philosophy in establishing peace in the world was also accepted.

At the beginning of the meeting, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharya presented a Power Point presentation on various issues related to the upcoming book fair. Also participating in the discussion were members of Tripura State Cultural Advisory Committee, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), Corporator Bhaswati Debbarma, Tapas Roy, Utpal Biswas, Vidyutjit Chakraborty, Manojit Dhar, Tripura Publishers Guild Secretary Ajit Debbarma Publishers and Booksellers Association Rakhal Majumdar, All Tripura Booksellers & Publishers Association Secretary. Uttam Chakraborty, Journalist Dibakar Debnath, poet Nakul Roy, writer Nakul Das, lawyer Asmita Banik, and others.

The end of the meeting, Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder said that the number of book lovers is increasing every year at the Agartala Book Fair and this fair is increasing its scope with time. He expressed hope that the upcoming 43rd Agartala Book Fair will be successfully organized with the efforts of all concerned including book publishers, book sellers, buyers, new readers.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Manika Das Datta, West Tripura Zilla Parishad Saha-Sabhadipati Biswajit Shil, Society for Management of Cultural Complex Chairman Nabendu Bhattacharjee, Tripura State Cultural Advisory Committee Vice Chairman Subrata Chakraborty, Tripura Central University former Vice Chancellor Dr. Arunoday Saha, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Member of Media Advisory Committee, Member of Tripura State Cultural Advisory Committee, artists, writers, poets, officials of various departments and many other dignitaries were present in the meeting.
