In the fight against the menace of trans-border smuggling in the State of Tripura, BSF continuously conducting ‘Special Operations’ to neutralize the ill designs of trans-border Smugglers on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border.
In series of such operations, on intervening night of 26/27 Sept 2021, BSF troops apprehended 03 persons suspected to be involved in trans-border smuggling, besides successfully seizing 24 Kgs Ganja, 12 Cattle, 06 Bottle Liquor, 35 Bottles Eskuf Syrup & assorted Contraband items having combined value of Rs. 44,31,325/- in different operations.
On 26th Sept 2021, based on specific BSF intelligence input, joint operation party comprising of BSF troops of Border Out Post Sabroom, Ex- 96 Bn BSF, Udaipur with officials of Customs Sabroom, South Tripura intercepted one TATA SE 1613 Truck (TR01-A-1850) on NH 08, carrying contraband consignment comprising of 10 Cartoons containing assorted Fire Crackers valued Rs. 9,37,455/- and also apprehended truck driver namely Jugal Das (46 years) S/o Jogyeshwar Das R/o Vill- Purbapara, Durgapur, Rajnagar, South Tripura. The above apprehended person along with the Fire Crackers & seized truck was handed over to Customs- Sabroom, Sub Div- Sabroom, Distt: South Tripura for further course of action.
In another Operation, on 26th Sept 2021, acting on a specific BSF intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Out Post Chamubasti, Ex- 119 Bn BSF, Teliamura spotted a suspicious Maruti Car (TR 01 BF 0737) parked in Junior High School, Udna (Chamubasti), PS- Champahour, Sub Division &Distt- Khowai. During thorough search of the vehicle, party recovered 04 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 20,000/-, Rs. 1,380/- Indian Currency, 03 Mobile Basic Phones and also detained 02 suspected persons namely Samir Debbarma S/o Hemanto Debbarma R/o Vill- Sonarampara, PS- Sidhani, Distt- West Tripura and Deepak Debbarma S/o Lalit Debbarma R/o Vill- Hamgachiya Para, PS- Sidhai, Distt- West Tripura. The apprehended persons along with Ganja and seized vehicle are being handed over to PS- Champahour for further course of action.
Besides above, last night, vigilant troops of 150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar successfully seized 1,013 packets of assorted Seeds & 50 Kgs loose seeds worth Rs. 10,05,767/-. Also seized assorted 364 packets of Fire Crackers valued Rs. 9,74,750/- and 06 Nos Cattle along with Tata Xenon Yodha Vehicle (TR 1AF 1775), in three different operations conducted on specific intelligence inputs. The above seized contraband items are being handed over to the concerned Agencies for further disposal. It is also worth mentioning here that vigilant BSF troops are dutifully manning the Indo-Bangladesh International Border in the State of Tripura.
