Agartala, Tripura, 10th of August, 2024 : On 10th August 2024, early in the morning, Joint Mobile check post laid by BSF and PS Madhupur detained 02 ladies from the depth area of Border outpost Keyadepha on suspicion. On being questioned they were revealed their identity as Bangladeshi nationals.
Bangladeshi and Indian touts facilitated their cross-border movement. Their destination was Kolkata to get employment as maid. Preliminary questioning is being carried out.
In several other operations BSF troops rescued 20 cattle, seized 1200 kg sugar, 14 kg Ganja and other contrabands worth several lakhs of rupees.
BSF has intensified surveillance and dominance along the international border due to the ongoing disturbance in Bangladesh and is currently in a state of high alert.
