Continuous endeavors are being made by BSF personnel of Tripura Frontier to curb the trans-border smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh Border in the State of Tripura. In series of Operations, Vigilant Border men foiled the various smuggling bids and seized 43.5 Kgs Ganja, 07 Cattle and assorted contraband items having combined value of Rs. 13,03,870/-in different operations on intervening night of 01/02 Aug 2021.
In one of such Operations, acting on specific intelligence input, during night hours of 01st August 2021 BSF troops of Border Outpost Boxanagar successfully seized 650 packets of Fire Crackers valued at Rs. 9,75,000/-, which were clandestinely hidden in the Rubber Bagan general area under Police Station- Kalamchoura, Sub Division- Sonamura, District- Sepahijala, for smuggling purpose. The seized contrabands are being handed over to Customs Sonamura for further disposal.
Likewise, based on specific input, BSF troops of BOP New Nidaya, 130 Bn BSF also seized 40Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 2,00,000/- in Rubber Bagan area in proximity to border road under Police Station – Jatrapur, Sub Division – Sonamura, District Sepahijala. The seized Ganja is being handed over to the concerned Police Station.
It is pertinent to mention that BSF Tripura is also committed to thwart the terminal impact of COVID-19 pandemic, following the COVID protocols.
