BSF Seized Drugs And Contraband Worth RS. 2,42,00,000/- in the series of ‘Special Operations” by BSF Tripura’s endeavour is to defeat the ill designs of trans-border Smugglers on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border. BSF Tripura Frontier is also making concerted efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the area of responsibility.

In this endeavour, based on the specific input of the Intelligence officer, Panisagar, a Special Operation was launched by an Intelligence officer with a Team of 64 Bn BSF and RPF Dharmanagar. On 06 July 2022 at 1422 hrs, at Railway Station Kumar Ghat, wherein a thorough search of coach number D-5 of train no. 15664 going from Silchar to Agartala was carried out. During the search, the party recovered a green colour plastic bag containing ten pack of shop cases from the overhead self of seat no. 41 a seizure of appx 484 gms to be suspected as Brown Sugar. The plastic bag was left abandoned by the suspect who managed to slip away taking advantage of the other passengers. The estimated value of seized Brown Sugar is approx 2,42,00,000/- in the international market.

In other operations, on 6th July 2022, acting on specific inputs regarding the smuggling of contraband & narcotics items which were seized by the troops, 15.5 Kgs Ganja, 362 bottles of Phensedyl/Eskuf Syrup, and other contraband items worth Rs. 2,56,645/-.
