BSF Troops deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in the State of Tripura, besides maintaining the sanctity of International border are also curbing the menace of trans-border smuggling of narcotics and contraband items by conducting various operations in the bordering areas. In the intervening night of 16/17 Nov 2020, BSF Tripura again succeeded in seizing 13Kgs Ganja, 172 Bottles Eskuf Syrup & other contraband articles, besides rescued 02 Cattle Head shaving combined value of Rs. 22,82,882/- during various operations.
In two such operations on the intervening night of 16/17 Nov 2020based on specific intelligence input regarding smuggling of contraband items, BSF troops of BOP Golachipa, Ex-150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar successful seized a consignment comprising of ‘227 Sarees worth Rs. 6,81,000/-’. Subsequently, above troops again confiscated a consignment of‘30 Sarees worth Rs. 75,000/- along with a Bolero Pick-Up Vehicle (TR 01AD 1740)’ in another Operation. Above seized contraband articles along with their mode of conveyance are being handed over to Customs- Sonamura, Sub Div- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala for further course of action.
It is to mention that vigilant BSF troops deployed on the extreme Frontiers of the Country in Tripura State are effectively manning the International Border and considerably seizing various contraband items on regular basis from the bordering areas.
