During ‘Anti-Smuggling Drives’ in the Tripura State, BSF troops are regularly confiscating huge quantity of contrabands and giving big jolts to trans-border smugglers, particularly Narcotics / drugs traffickers. During different operations in intervening night of 12/13 Nov 2021, narcotics & various other contraband items which includes 4,000 Nos Yaba Tablets, 99 Kgs Ganja, 190 Bottles of Phensedyl / Eskuf Syrup, 130 Liquor Bottles and other contraband articles, besides rescuing 08 Nos Cattles Heads having total collective value of Rs. 33,85,180/- including Rs. 1,00,000/- cash were seized from the areas near Indo-Bangladesh International Border.
In one such operation on 12th Nov 2021 based on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Outpost Bhagalpur, Ex-120 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar with police party of PS-Airport recovered 4,000 Nos Yaba Tablets & 40 Kgs Ganja along with Indian Currency amounting to Rs. 1,00,000/-, Total seizure value Rs. 23,00,000/-, which were clandestinely hidden under bamboo bushes in the forest area near border Village- Dargapara, Sub Division- Mohanpur, District- West Tripura. The seized narcotics & INR were handed over to Police Station- Airport for further legal action under NDPS Act.
It is to mention here that persistent endeavors are being made by the troops of BSF Tripura to eradicate the menace of trans-border smuggling particularly of narcotics drugs in the State of Tripura.
