Sabroom, Tripura, 27th of May, 2025 : On specific information regarding the Sabroom Police, Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura, has enhanced the surveillance and domination along the international border to prevent smuggling and trans border crimes along the international border.

According to report, Police seized a large amount of narcotics from a house in Shibbari Para, a village on the India-Bangladesh border in South Srinagar. On Sunday (25th May, 2025) at 9:30 pm, police and BSF conducted a joint operation at the house in Shibbari Para and recovered total of 10, 000 cigarette packets, two packet marijuana, four walkie talkies, two charges and one pulsar bike.

The owner of the house is named Chhayarani Bhowmik (72). However, she does not live in the house. This woman’s grandson used to live in this house. The grandson, Debojit Dey, is absconding. It is known that on May 25 at 8:30 pm, the police received information that narcotics were stored in Chhayarani Bhowmik’s house in Shibbari Para. After receiving this information, a large police force including the police, BSF, and the executive magistrate raided Chhayarani Bhowmik’s house.
According to police two packets of Cannabis 5 kg 200 grams, 10,000 packets of cigarettes, 4 Walkie talkies, two chargers, and a Pulsar bike were seized from that house. Sabroom Sub-divisional Police Officer Nittyanand Saha, Executive Magistrate Titu Debbarma, BSF officer Binod Kumar Singh, and OC of Manubazar SanjibDebbarma were present in this operation.
