Khowai, Tripura, 10th of October, 2025 : With the initiative of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Khowai District organized celebration ceremony of the International Day Of Older Persons at New Town Hall, Khowai, Tripura on Friday (10th October, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries, Khowai Zilla Saha-Sabhadipati Aparna Singh Roy (Datta) inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
The Progressive Youth Club of Teliamura, the Kishore Sangha of Khowai and the Finite Club secured the first, second and third positions respectively for their good work with the Older Persons. The organizers presented them with mementos, flower bouquets and demo checks by handing them over to the guests. The first, second and third place clubs were awarded demo checks of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
On this auspicious occasion of artists presented attractive cultural programmes like dance, song, music to beautify the ceremony.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Abhedananda Baidya, Addl. District Magistrate & Collector, Chairperson Teliamura Municipal Council, Rupak Sarkar Khowai Zilla Saha-Sabhadipati Aparna Singh Roy (Datta), Khowai Municipal Council Debasish Nath Sharma and may other distinguished dignitaries were present in the celebration ceremony.
The entire program was conducted by Sour Pratim Sharma, a prominent cultural worker from Khowai district. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by president of the event Satyendra Das.
