Agartala, Tripura, 18th of March, 2026 : The Election Commissioner For District Council of Tripura statement – “the Governor of Tripura has called upon all the Constituencies of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council to elect members at the General-Election for the purpose of constituting a new District Council vide Notification No.17(18)/TW/ADC/C.Upon/Elcction/2026/1/1285219/2026 Dated 17.03.2026 under Sub-Rule- (2) of Rule-14 of the of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (Constitution, Election and Conduct of Business) Rules, 1985.”
“THEREFORE, in pursuance of the provisions of Rule- 38 of the said Rule, the undersigned as Election Commissioner for District Council hereby appoints the following schedule for nomination, scrutiny of nominations, withdrawal of candidatures, date on which poll shall, if necessary, be taken, date of counting and date before which the election shall be completed for election for all the 28 (twenty-eight) District Council Constituencies:”
The election commission in official statement, the last date for filing nominations is March 25, 2026 (Wednesday). The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on March 26, 2026 (Thursday), while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 28, 2026 (Saturday).
Date of Poll on 12th April, 2026 (Sunday) 7AM to 4PM. The votes will be counted on 17th April, 2026 (Friday) from 8am onwards. The entire election process will end on 18th April (Saturday).
