Celebration Of 46th Kokborok Day.

Agartala, 19th of January 2024 : With the initiative of Tribal Welfare Department Government of Tripura State Level 46th Kokborok Day 2024 celebration programme has been conducted at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala on Friday (19th January, 2024). The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the Hon’ble Finance, Planning & Coordination, Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy and other dignitaries with a colorful and flamboyant programme.

“The State Government has taken efforts development of 8 languages including Kokborok language, Chakma, Halam, Mog, Kuki, Mizo, Garo, Bishnupriya Manipuri and Manipuri. In this year’s budget, a total of ₹ 5,608 crore has been allocated in 14 sub pans for the welfare of the people. Apart from this, with the financial assistance of ₹ 1400 crores from the World Bank, multi-faceted programs have been undertaken for the development of the people”, Hon’ble Finance, Planning & Coordination, Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said at the State Level  46th Kokborok Day celebration ceremony. The minister said according to the 2011 census, 11 lakh 66 thousand 813 tribal people live in our State.

The Finance, Planning minister also added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on November 15, 2023 and the journey of developing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of the State are sincere in the welfare of the people. The Finance Minister unveiled the cover of the book ‘Taksatyari’. Former minister and MLA Rampada Jamatia unveiled the cover of the book ‘Karam Kachak Himwatak’. A large number of indigenous man, woman and youths of from different tribes have assembled in the programme venue and took participation in this event with enthusiasm.

Director of Elementary Education Subhasis Bandhapadhya, Director of Tribal Research & Cultural Institute Ananda Hari Jamatia, students of various schools and colleges, and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
