Agartala, Tripura, 26th of September, 2026 : It is necessary to keep everyone in society informed about how to bring down number of accidents and available government facilities in this arena through awareness drives and cooperation. Society will benefit through such initiatives, stated the Hon’ble Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury after inaugurating a programme on road safety and awareness oganised at Bishalgarh Town Hall, on Friday (25th September, 2026).
Speaking at the event organized by the Sepahijala district administration the Transport Minister said, the central and state government are always ready to help the people in crisis. He said, Rah Veer, PM Rahat etc. scheines are in force to help the victims of road accidents. People have to be made aware about these schemes. He said, the motorstand at Bishalgarh will be re-developed. The government, apart from building infrastructure, is working toward ensuring safety of people. He informed that road safety and awareness programmes will be organized in different schools, and colleges as well.
DM, Sepahijala Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal delivered the welcome address. IGP Manchak Ipper also deliberated on road safety awareness, alertness while driving, keeping seat belt fastened etc. topics.
