Khowai, 14th of April, 2024 : With the initiative of Chebri Fishermen’s Cooperative Society Ltd. has been selling fish at low prices every year on ‘Poila Baishakh’ and Durga Puja Dashami for 44 years long in Chebri Bazar area under Khowai district. Like other years, this year also the Chebri Fishermen’s Cooperative Society Ltd sells fish in Chebri Bazar today (14th April, 2024). Various and social works are done by this association for common people and the different times distribution of fruits to patients and distribution of clothes to common people.
The Chebri Fishermen’s Cooperative Society Ltd. became very popular among the masses within the Khowai district. The president of this association is Arjun Das and the manager of the association is Haridhan Pal Chowdhury. According to sources, the manager always helps the people of the area by giving fish at a low price in various social events. Today about 500 kg of fish is distributed to the public at low cost.
