Agartala, Tripura, 24th of January, 2025 : With the initiative of Urban Development Department Government of Tripura 3rd State Level Shehri Samriddhi Utsav 2025 has been organized at Swami Vivekananda Ground, Agartala on Friday (24th January, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the 3rd State Level Shehri Samriddhi Utsav 2025 by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.

Addressing at the inaugural ceremony of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that without women’s empowerment, society, state and country cannot be strong. Keeping that in mind, the State Government has given special priority to women’s empowerment. The Chief Minister said, women are the driving force of the society, they should be respected. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special emphasis on women empowerment and has launched several schemes for them. In the overall sense, the Central and State Governments are working in the state by combining ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas’.

The Chief Minister said that with the aim of empowering women in the State Government has reserved women in government jobs, recruited women in TSR battalions, launched a project called “Mukhyamantri Konya Atmonirbhor Yojana” in the last budget, a 50-seat hostel is being built at Gandatuisa Government Degree College, pink toilets are being arranged for the convenience of women. Besides, 9 women’s police stations have been opened in the state.

Moreover, a helpline has been launched for the safety of women. The Chief Minister also added that the number of women self-help groups in the state has increased a lot compared to before. Presently, the number of rural women self-help groups is about 52 thousand. The number of Lakhpati Didis has also increased a lot. The Chief Minister said that due to overall development at all levels, the average per capita income in the state has almost doubled in the last 6 years compared to before. Besides, the GDP has also increased compared to before. She said that the law and order situation in the state has improved a lot. Many people have tried to destroy law and order. But the State Government has been able to control the situation quickly.
Raval Hamendra Kumar, Special Secretary, Education (School) and Food department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. 230 self-help groups from Eight districts of the state participated in this festival. In addition, 21 stalls of various departments are present in this festival. Mainly, there is an arrangement for exhibition and sale of handicrafts, home furnishings, traditional food of self-help groups. The Chief Minister and other guests visited various stalls and exchanged views with the participants.
Amidst the distinguished participants there were Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA Dipak Majumder, Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Balai Goswam and many others dignitaries were remained present in the event.
