Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha Initiated And Inaugurates Several Development Projects In Khowai District.

Khowai 26th February 2024 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday (26th February, 2024) laid the foundation stone and bhumi puja of District Administration Residential Complex, Dhalabil, launched Child Marriage elimination through Sensitization taking and awareness (CHESTA), New Town hall and inaugurated District level SARAS Fair 2024 at Khowai Govt. Class XII Boys School ground, under Khowai District.

 “Regarding child marriage, the Chief Minister said that it is a social disease. The state and the country are moving forward in terms of development.”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the launching ceremony of Child Marriage elimination through Sensitization taking and awareness (CHESTA) in the New Town hall, Khowai. On this day, the Chief Minister said without hesitation that Tripura state ranks first in child marriage. We have to get out of this. He called upon the administrative officers to lay emphasis on increasing awareness along with enforcement of laws to prevent child marriage.

With the initiative of Mission Management Unit, TRLM, Government of Tripura, Khowai Branch District level SARAS Fair 2024 organized at Khowai Govt. Class XII Boys School ground in Khowai on Monday, (26th February, 2024).  “Once there was a conspiracy in the name of development. Now there is no politics in the name of development. The state is moving forward in the direction of Modiji’s thinking of Sabka Sath, Sabka Viswas.  There is no political color to pass the benefits of various government schemes to beneficiaries. Development of the society is not possible without the development of women.”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the inauguration ceremony of District level SARAS Fair 2024 in Khowai.

The Chief Minister also added that women should be self-reliant. Prime Minister Modi’s goal is to build a self-reliant India. There was a time when women were not allowed to leave the house. They had to live with their families. Now the women of the country are slowly becoming independent. The current government of the country is working tirelessly to improve the socio-economic status of women. Our mothers and sisters are making themselves self-reliant, especially through self-help groups. Forty-eight thousand women are associated with four thousand self-help groups in the state. They are making products themselves and making profit by selling them. A total of 50 stalls various Self Help Groups (SHGs) participated in the SARAS Fair,  showcasing the with their produce.

Hon’ble Tribal Welfare, Handloom, Handicrafts & Sericulture, Statistics Minister Bikash Debbarma, Khowai District Magistrate & Collector Chandni Chandran, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, Member of Khowai Zilla Parishad Subrata Majumder and many other dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony.
