Agartala, Tripura, 13th of August, 2026 : The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has now evolved into a massive people’s movement. across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the nationwide initiative in 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Within a short span of time, the campaign has instilled a deep sense of respect for the national flag, patriotism, and national pride among citizens. To strengthen the spirit of nationalism, the campaign is being observed in Tripura along with the rest of the country. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the Har Ghar Tiranga Rally from the Ujjayanta Palace premises on Wednesday (12th August, 2026). The rally commenced from Ujjayanta Palace, passed through the city’s main roads, and concluded at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, where a Tiranga Exhibition and Tiranga Concert were organized.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the national flag is not merely a piece of cloth or a combination of colours. The Tiranga symbolizes India’s freedom, strength, peace, and progress. The saffron colour represents sacrifice, white stands for truth, and green signifies growth and prosperity. The Ashoka Chakra at the centre of the flag inspires citizens to move forward continuously. He further stated that the tricolour national flag is deeply associated with the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters and martyrs. Every citizen has the responsibility to uphold the dignity and honour of the national flag.
The Chief Minister further stated that the fifth edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is being celebrated across the country from August 9 to August 17 through various programmes. These include Tiranga rallies, exhibitions, concerts, bike and cycle rallies at district, block, and panchayat levels, tricolour illuminations, rangoli competitions, and selfie campaigns with the national flag. This year’s celebrations have been dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Vande Mataram, India’s national song. He appealed to people from all walks of life in the state to actively participate in this national campaign

Among those present were Hon’ble Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Hon’ble Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Hon’ble Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, Hon’ble Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, Hon’ble Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, and Hon’ble Fisheries Minister Sudhangshu Das. Others present included Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA Dipak Majumder, MLA Abhishek Debroy, MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, Acting Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Biswajit Shil, Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Kiran Gitte, school students, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers and other dignitaries. The Chief Minister and the guests participated in the rally. After its conclusion, they visited the Tiranga Exhibition at the Rabindra Bhavan premises and enjoyed the Tiranga Concert.
