Agartala, Tripura, 28th of August, 2025 : With the initiative of Union Ministry of Rural Development organized National Workshop On Integrated Farming Cluster For The North Eastern State in collaboration with the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission of the Department of Rural Development at Hotel Polo Tower, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (28th August, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated three-day long the National Workshop on Integrated Farming Cluster for the North Eastern State.

Addressing at the inaugural ceremony of National Workshop on Integrated Farming Cluster for the North Eastern State Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the aim of the present Government is to make the women of the State self-reliant and to form a self-reliant state. Along with this, the rural economy of the state is also enriched. Farmers are the backbone of the country. The economic prosperity of the country largely depends on farmers. Similarly, farmers also contribute to the overall progress of the state. A prosperous and self-reliant family is one of the key factors in building an economically strong state. In this regard, the Integrated Farming Cluster under the National Rural Livelihood Mission is playing a significant role in improving the rural economy and improving the quality of life of rural citizens.
The Chief Minister said that to increase the income of the members of the women self-help groups, the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has taken up the plan of Integrated Farming Clusters under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana Mission. As per the plan, work is already underway to set up 80 Integrated Farming Clusters in the state at a cost of Rs. 32 crore on the occasion of the Samman Samaroh of the Completeness Campaign. The objective of the Integrated Farming Cluster is to improve the economic condition at the household level and to bring coordination between livelihood programs. Under an Integrated Farming Cluster, 250 to 300 small and marginal farmers will be linked with the Livelihood Service Center. Each Integrated Farming Cluster will have support providers like Krishi Sakhi, Pasushaki, Matsya Sakhi and Community Resource Personnel. Who will provide necessary support to these farmers.

Highlighting the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Saha remarked the at present, 4.85 lakh women are associated with 54,113 self-help groups, 2,470 village organizations and 173 cluster level federations across the state. In addition, 2,628 producer groups and 118 non-farm collectives have been formed in the state to increase the income of self-help groups. Bank loans, revolving funds and community investment funds have been provided to the organizations to ensure the livelihood of women self-help groups. So far, 1 lakh 8 thousand 281 women have become Lakhpati Didi. Currently, rural women of the state are involved in agriculture-based, agro-ecological practices, poultry farming, fisheries, micro enterprises, canteens, catering, etc. to achieve self-reliance. The Chief Minister wished the overall success of this three-day workshop.

Secretary of Rural Development Department Abhishek Singh delivered a welcome address at the inaugural session of the event. Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Director, Central Rural Development Department, senior officials and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the inauguration ceremony today. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), TRLM, Tarit Kanti Chakma.
