Agartala, Tripura, 10th of July, 2026 : Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday (10th July, 2026) inaugurated the private TIME Hospital at Bagmara in Amtali, along the Agartala-Sabroom National Highway, and reiterated the state government’s commitment to making quality healthcare accessible so that residents do not have to travel outside Tripura for advanced treatment.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister said that one of the government’s key objectives is to make healthcare and other essential public services easily accessible to the larger population. He also said that the state has made significant progress in modernizing healthcare infrastructure and is continuously working to strengthen medical services across Tripura. Chief Minister Dr. Saha announced that a Homoeopathic Medical College will be established in the state. He also stated that growing interest is being noticed from private investors in the healthcare sector. TIME Hospital has been set up with an initial investment of around 30 crore, while another private healthcare project, Shija Hospital, is expected to be developed with an investment of ₹90 crore.
The Chief Minister said that expansion of private healthcare facilities would not only improve medical services but also create employment opportunities in the state. Alongside strengthening government healthcare institutions, the government is encouraging the establishment of hospitals in various districts through private initiatives. He added that the state government is taking steps to ensure that economically weaker families can access quality treatment at private hospitals. Special emphasis is also being placed on improving healthcare services in ADC areas and constructing new hospitals in different parts of the state.

Referring to improvements in public health, the Chief Minister said that gaps in vaccination, nutrition, and healthcare services in remote areas have been significantly reduced due to focused efforts by the Health Department. He noted that people are benefiting from free treatment under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), through which healthcare services worth approximately 307 crore have already been provided to beneficiaries in the state. He further stated that welfare schemes such as the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Mukhyamantri Niramay Arogya Abhiyan are also helping improve access to healthcare. Emphasizing preventive healthcare, the Chief Minister said that prevention is better than cure and urged people to adopt healthy lifestyles and remain health-conscious. He added that the state government is working towards building a Viksit Tripura in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.
After the inauguration, Dr. Saha toured various units of the newly established hospital.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, TIME Hospital Chairman Jayanta Kumar Roy, and Kanak Narayan Bhattacharya of TIME Hospital. Director of the Department of Pediatrics at Manipal Hospitals, Dr. Chetan Gingery, and many other distinguished dignitaries also attended the programme.
