Chief Minister Of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha Reviews TMS Meeting Administration Must Listen To People’s Problems And Ensure Their Speedy Resolution.

Agartala, Tripura, 16th of September, 2026 : The administration must play a more proactive, sensitive and responsible role in matters directly related to public interest. Officials should not wait for issues to be highlighted in the media or for complaints from the public. Instead, they must proactively identify problems and take prompt steps to resolve them. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha gave these directions at a Task Monitoring System (TMS) meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday (15th September).

At the beginning of the meeting. Chief Minister’s Secretary and Secretary of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Kiran Gitte, presented a pictorial report before the Chief Minister on the functioning of the TMS portal and the overall mechanism for monitoring social and electronic media content related to various departments. Issues concerning different departments that were reported in the social and news media were also reviewed during the meeting. The Chief Minister said that coordination and accountability must be maintained at every level of the administration. Officials should listen to people’s problems with humility and courtesy and ensure their speedy resolution. District Magistrates, as the administrative heads of their respective districts, should regularly review the overall situation in their districts and ensure necessary action on important issues.

The Chief Minister directed the authorities to take necessary action against unlicensed spa centres operating at various locations across the state. Emphasising the need for effective measures to control illegal parking in the Golbazar area, he instructed the SP Traffic to inspect the situation on the ground and take appropriate action. The Chief Minister also stressed the need to maintain the effectiveness and functionality of trauma centres. He said trauma centres must remain fully prepared and operational at all times to save lives during accidents and other emergencies. He also directed the concerned departments to conduct regular awareness programmes for the prevention of non-communicable diseases and remain more vigilant in controlling malaria. The maintenance of Bailey bridges in different parts of the state was also discussed. The concerned departments were directed to repair bridges requiring renovation at the earliest and ensure safe connectivity. The Chief Minister instructed the Forest Department and other concerned officials to take more proactive measures to reduce human-elephant conflict in populated areas. If necessary, expert advice and technical assistance should be sought to address the issue. He emphasised effective and long-term solutions based on local conditions to ensure public safety.

He also stressed the need for regular review of the effectiveness and practical implementation of smart classes in schools and directed the concerned department to submit performance reports on smart classes.

The Chief Minister further directed departments to take advance measures so that the talent, participation or careers of sportspersons are not affected by administrative complications. He said officials must ensure that no sportsperson is deprived of opportunities because of complicated official procedures or unnecessary delays.

The Chief Minister said the primary objective of the TMS is to regularly review the progress of administrative work and ensure speedy resolution of issues concerning the people. Therefore, no negligence or unnecessary delay in discharging responsibilities will be tolerated. Every department must remain more conscious of its responsibilities and complete assigned tasks within the stipulated time.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to continue working in the interest of the people with greater dedication, sincerity and responsibility. District Magistrates and district police officials from all districts of the state participated in the TMS meeting virtually.
