Computer Training Programme Launched For Rural Students.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 9th of October, 2026 : A basic computer training programme has been launched under the Civic Action Programme of the CRPF’s 140 Battalion to equip students from rural and remote areas with computer skills.

The programme was inaugurated at a function held on Thursday at the CRPF camp in the Uptakhali area of Panisagar subdivision.The training programme will be conducted at a computer institute in Panisagar. Ten students participated in the inaugural session. The initiative aims to connect students from rural areas with digital education and help them develop basic computer and information technology skills.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Dharmanagar Additional Superintendent of Police Ashish Kumar Thakur, IPS, and Ganpat Singh, Assistant Commandant of E Company, 140 Battalion, CRPF. Panisagar Chairperson Anuradha Das, Uptakhali Gram Panchayat Pradhan Samiran Das, CRPF Inspector H. Boro, along with other officials, prominent citizens and members of E/140 Battalion, were also present.

During the programme, the officials interacted with the participating students and encouraged them to pursue learning and skill development in various fields. The presence of local youths also marked the occasion.The CRPF initiative is expected to provide young people from remote areas with basic knowledge of computers and information technology, while also helping them enhance their skills and improve their future employment prospects. Local residents expressed the view that such training programmes, as part of the CRPF’s civic-oriented activities, would also play an important role in strengthening the force’s relationship with the local community.
