Congress Holds Satyagraha and Protest March in Dharmanagar Against Alleged Insult to Kharge.

Dharmanagar, 15th of August, 2026 : A Satyagraha movement and protest march were organized in Dharmanagar on Friday by the Dharmanagar District Congress in protest against the alleged insult to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. Several party leaders, workers and supporters participated in the programme.The protest march began from the Dharmanagar District Congress Bhavan and passed through the main roads of the town before concluding with a brief meeting. Carrying the national flag and party flags, Congress workers and supporters raised various slogans in protest against the incident.Dharmanagar District Congress president Nirupam Dey, Pradesh Congress Committee member Kebol Kanti Nandi, Pradesh Congress leader Chayan Bhattacharya, along with several other district- and state-level Congress leaders, were present at the programme. A large number of party workers and supporters also took part in the Satyagraha and protest march.

During the meeting, the speakers strongly condemned the alleged insult to Mallikarjun Kharge and described such behaviour as being contrary to social dignity and democratic values. They also highlighted the Congress party’s position against caste-based divisions and in favour of social equality.Congress leaders said that ensuring equal dignity for every individual is essential in the country’s democratic and social sphere.
