Agartala, Tripura/New Delhi, 12th of September, 2024 : CPI(M) General Secretary and former Rajya Sabha MP Sitaram Yechury passed away on Thursday (12th September, 2024) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. He was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Aiims) on August 19 for the treatment of the pneumonia-like chest infection. He was 72 years old.

Veteran CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury is survived by his wife Seema Chishti, daughter Akhila Yechury, son Danish Yechury, and brother Shankar Yechury. According to sources, Sitaram Yechury’s body will be taken from AIIMS to his residence in Delhi on Friday.
