Dharmanagar, Tripura, 4th of September, 2026 : Political activities have gained momentum in the Kalachhara Block area ahead of the upcoming ADC Village Committee elections. In the latest development, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] submitted nomination papers for four seats in the Balichhara ADC Village Committee.
At around 2 p.m. on Friday (4th September, 2026) the party’s candidates submitted their nomination papers to Kalachhara Block Officer Sumit Kumar Das.The CPI(M) candidates include Joylal Manik Tripura from Seat No. 1 of Ward No. 1, Ringbor Moni Halam from Seat No. 2 of the same ward, Shankari Khoyra from Seat No. 5 of Ward No. 3, and Bijan Khasia from Seat No. 6 of Ward No. 3.The Balichhara ADC Village Committee has a total of seven seats. The party has stated that nomination papers for the remaining three seats will also be submitted shortly.

After filing his nomination, candidate Joylal Manik Tripura said that if elected, priority would be given to the overall development of the area. He specifically highlighted improving communication infrastructure and addressing drinking water problems as key priorities.He further said that, alongside improving the quality of life of residents in the hilly area, many of whom have been facing basic infrastructural problems for a long time, the party aims to accelerate development-oriented activities in Balichhara.
