Cyclone ‘Remal’ Unleashes Heavy Rain, Cattle Dead After Boundary Wall Collapses.

Teliamura, 28th of May, 2024 : Cyclone ‘Remal’ unleashes heavy rain and storm in Teliamura, various areas affected. Due to the heavy rain, the boundary wall of the cemetery of minority section collapsed in Baishgharia area under Teliamura police station and the house of a man nearby also collapsed and the cattle of the house tragically died.

According to the details of the incident, Prabir Das, a resident of the concerned area, had built his house at least eight to ten feet away from the boundary wall of the graveyard and there is a cattle house. Allegedly, at around 6:30 in the evening during the rain yesterday, the concerned wall of the cemetery collapsed in the house of Prabir Das, in view of which the wall of his house was damaged and a large cattle next to the house died on the spot.

Prabir Das alleged that the unplanned and without maintaining quality of the boundary wall led to this untoward incident. As per the latest information, the local village head along with the Tehsildar visited the affected house but no senior officials visited. The local people including the affected people are demanding that the administration should arrange appropriate compensation in this regard. Apart from this, a part of the side wall of Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital has collapsed due to the rain, causing widespread panic among the locals. According to local sources, there has been extensive damage to the madrasa located in Teliamura’s Baishgharia.
