Dharmanagar, Tripura, 2nd of March, 2026 : A daring theft took place late Sunday night at Golden Valley English Medium School located in the Padmapur area under Dharmanagar Police Station. The incident came to light on Monday morning when the school in-charge arrived on campus and immediately informed the other teachers after witnessing the situation. The incident has created a stir in the locality.According to school sources, upon entering the premises on Monday morning, the in-charge noticed that the lock of the office room had been broken. After going inside, it was found that the almirah in the office had also been forced open. In addition, the locks of several other classrooms were found broken. It is primarily suspected that important documents and some valuable items have been stolen.The most concerning aspect of the incident is that the CCTV camera connections installed in the school were deliberately disconnected by the miscreants. As a result, no video footage of the incident was recorded. School authorities believe that had the CCTV system remained intact, identifying the culprits would have been much easier.
After receiving news of the incident, local residents gathered at the school premises. The theft at an educational institution has also caused concern among parents. The school authorities have lodged a written complaint at Dharmanagar Police Station.Police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are assessing the extent of the loss. Local residents have demanded stricter night security arrangements in the area.
