Agartala, Tripura/Imphal, Manipur, 8th of September, 2026 : The Deeksharambh 2026–27 (Induction–cum-Foundation Course) for the newly admitted B.F.Sc. first-year students of the College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura, was inaugurated on 7th September 2026 for the 29th batch of the College, comprises around 40 students admitted from 15 States of India, with a few more students expected to join within the next few days. The two-week-long programme, being organized from 07 to 22 September 2026, has been structured in accordance with the prescribed guidelines of Deeksharambh. It aims to acclimatize students to the new academic environment, facilitate cultural integration, develop bonding with peers, teachers and seniors, and foster life and social skills, leadership, teamwork, creativity, ethics and values.
The inaugural programme was graced by Shri S. Prabhu, IFS, Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Government of Tripura, as the Chief Guest; Prof. (Dr.) Debashish Sen, Principal & Director, College of Agriculture, CAU (Imphal), as Guest of Honour; and Prof. Arun B. Patel, Dean, College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal). Addressing the students, Shri S. Prabhu, IFS, highlighted the importance of assiduous efforts and consistency in achieving one’s goals. Narrating his journey to crack the Civil Services Examination, he shared valuable insights on sustained preparation, discipline, perseverance and clarity of purpose. He interacted with the students and responded to their queries, thereby igniting their aspirations and creating awareness about Civil Service preparation and career opportunities among the students of the College. Prof. Arun B. Patel, Dean, College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), expressed his extreme admiration for the initiative of setting up an ecosystem for Civil Service Examination preparation while keeping fisheries education at a top notch. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Anupam Mishra, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, CAU (Imphal), and the University officials for their support and guidance in strengthening such initiatives. He also applauded the comprehensive design of the Deeksharambh programme and thanked the organizing team led by Dr. Amitava Ghosh, Coordinator, and Dr. Hoilenting and Mr. Abhay Singh, Co-Coordinators, for its successful planning and execution in a befitting manner. The Deeksharambh module, developed by the Coordinator & team, comprises a diverse range of academic, professional, social, cultural and experiential activities.
The programme is designed around the Four Pillars of Deeksharambh—Socializing, Associating, Acclimatizing and Experiencing, providing the students with a comprehensive platform for academic orientation, professional exposure, personality development and holistic learning. The inaugural programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Song and National Anthem.
