17-member delegates of Journalists from Bangladesh National Press Club, Dhaka arrived in Tripura on a four-day visit at the invitation of Agartala Press Club on Friday (1st September, 2023). Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Agartala Press Club Secretary Ramakanta Dey welcomed the delegation with greeting. Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated between the journalists of the two countries. They are welcomed by wearing red roses and northern traditions and customs of the state. President of National Press Club, Bangladesh Farida Yasmin said, Bangladesh National Press Club has a soul bond with Agartala Press Club.
The representatives of the two countries also expressed their opinion that the discussion organized by the journalists of the two countries is a platform for the development of relations and a new horizon in the exchange of views. On the second day of the four-day tour, there will be a friendly cricket match between the Agartala Press Club and the National Press Club, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The match will start at 9:30 in the morning at Narsinghgarh Dr. BR Ambedkar school grounds. State cabinet member Sudhangshu Das will inaugurate the match. On the third day of the tour, the visiting delegation will visit various tourist centers including Maitri Udyan and Trishna Sanctuary. The prize distribution ceremony will be held at Agartala Press Club in the evening of that day in the presence of representatives. State cabinet member Tinku Roy will be present on the occasion. This effort has been taken to strengthen the relationship between the journalists of the two countries. Former Secretary of Agartala Press Club Pranab Sarkar and other journalists were present in the welcoming and greeting session of the journalists.
